What is the APEEE and what do we do?

Without active involvement of parents, no school can hope to achieve its full potential, and the European Schools are no exception to this rule.

The Parents Association of the European Schools in Luxembourg is the official voice of parents of children attending the schools. We are the recognised spokesperson representing the interests of all children enrolled in European School Luxembourg I and II.

The APEEE management committee members participate in meetings of the Administration Board of the schools, which determine how the schools function from day to day. Management committee members also participate in the Primary and Secondary Educational Councils, and sit on other committees and working groups to monitor health and safety issues and the operation of the school canteen, and to help organise school trips and extracurricular activities.

They also organise the annual school fête and publish the school magazine Ad Parentes, and are responsible for co-ordinating a flow of information to and from members, the network of class delegates and parents generally.

All this is done on a voluntary basis with limited resources. Committee members are elected for a two year duration.
